Re: Help me decide
TB008 (Rev1) - AC inverter spindle motors Remove mechanical variable speed mechanism AC inverters allow the speed of a standard AC induction motor to be varied electronically. The current generation of AC inverters offer extremely efficient operation, with full motor torque down to almost zero speed...

Re: Single to Quad converter
I believe that the differential levels normally range between approximately .5 V to around 2.5V (or more),
not necessarily 0V to 5V like is commonly assumed. Are you using a scope or just a meter ?

Re: Reusing my servo motors
Chris wrote> "Also can you give me a source for purchasing brushes for my servos? " Are you sure your brushes really need replacing? If not , it is best not to mess with them. Contrary to popular opinion, brushes on DC motors used in CNC equipment don't wear much. The urban legend of brush...

Re: Velocity or (Torque?) Voltage Mode?
Velocity Mode is the short answer. The two most common methods of commanding servo drives are Velocity Mode and Torque mode. Please see previous post: http://www.ajaxcnc.com/ajaxbb/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=109&p=532&hilit=velocity+mode#p532 Re: Tuning Servos Postby CNCguy » Thu Jul 15, 2010 ...

Re: 8 possition turret
The short answer is yes, Ajax can drive a turret similar to what you describe.
I only know that lathe turret PLC programs have been successful for the Ajax MPU11 running Centroid software ,
but you appear to want to use Mach3.
Anyone else using AjaxMPU11 lathes with Mach3?
