Re: 4th axis won't home

Machine repair guy came in the other day. The switch was out of adjustment. The 4th axis uses a mechanical switch to find home and it needed tweaked. All good now!

Re: 4th axis won't home

I did alt-i and the 4th axis circuit red all the way around. I can't access the switch without taking the axis apart, prefer not to do that. I tried just manually homing it to some random position and it worked. I re-zero it every time I set up anyway, so home for this axis is pretty pointless. So w...

4th axis won't home <resolved>

4th axis won't home. Worked great yesterday. Shut down the machine last night, come in today and it just spins and never finds home. It spins really really slowly, too. Normally it rapids around, trips, and then touches slowly. It's just creeping around now. Made several full revolutions at this poi...

Re: 4th axis failure results in inability to home

Fixed! Made the edits to the homing program. Then had to change parameter 131 to 61.000 so it would allow me to change to 3 axis machining. Once I did that, it ignored the 4th axis and its up and running again.

Re: 4th axis failure results in inability to home

Reply from Centroid showed me where to find the home program and suggested an edit. Put a semicolon in front of the 4th axis moves. That stopped the machine from trying to home that axis, but it seems it didn't complete the homing cycle enough and the control still says the machine is not homed. Bot...

4th axis failure results in inability to home (resolved)

My 4th axis blew up, I'll deal with that issue later, but I'd like to be able to use the machine without the 4th axis. Unfortunately, it won't home without homing my 4th axis also. I'm dead in the water now. Is there a way to edit the homing process to remove the 4th axis? Pics below are my screen w...
