Re: Encoder Basics
Thanks tb, I appreciate the clarification. Also with regard to encoders, through some additional reading I found a diagram via Dynapar as being a helpful tool for those less familiar, like myself, to delineate the semantics of encoder classification. http://www.dynapar.com/uploadedFiles/_Site_Root/T...

Re: Erroneous Torque Nomenclature?
Okay, erroneous may not have been the best or even well thought out choice. https://i.imgur.com/RK5b1Vv.gif No, I've never torqued anything to a very small amount. What things do you need to apply units of force to in very small amounts? It appears due to the density of most workpieces the applicati...

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
What's everyone's opinion on ELO Monitors?
I might have a source on some Elo 21.5" E497002 Pro-Cap 10-Point Touch displays on-par or better than ASUS VT207 pricing.

Erroneous Torque Nomenclature?
As a relative newcomer to tool and die do machinists resent Isaac Newton or am I missing something? What's wrong with (N·m) or (ft·lbf)? This alternative unit of measurement lifestyle (oz·in) , (lb·in), etc... In my opinion, it reads like a individual stating their age in weeks. Nonetheless is there...

Question
Lead, Pitch, TPI all refer to different things but numerically are all equivalent?
*Note in below example TPI is actually 5.08 according to my arithmetic.
5mm Lead = 5mm Pitch = 5 TPI*
Is this correct?

Re: Touchscreen / Touch-screen Monitor List 19" to 27"
IS there a preferred screen resolution? I.E. 1920 x 1080 vs 1600 x 900? I was curious with regard to the same question, thanks for asking! I was going to compile a 15-19" list, but first go around there were not enough options to justify a separate list, from memory it was only like 3-5 option...

Touchscreen / Touch-screen Monitor List 19" to 27"
Introduction, been browsing the forum about a month and I plan on purchasing Acorn Board in the near future. Location Indiana. As I've come to discover most online retailers don't do an adequate job of identifying touch vs non-touch monitors/displays. Nonetheless I've compiled a list of (touchscreen...
