Re: Homing & Hard Limit Switches
Dan- I'm slowly converting the same lathe and love the simplicity and clean look of the direct drive on the x and z-axis. It is much simpler than the belt drive I have been planning. I also have 425 oz-in motors and am curious how well they work in your design. Also what size is the z-axis ballscrew...

Re: Controlling Outputs and writing code
I'm curious, are you using the acorn stepper motor functionality to control your bale pickup mechanism? Andy Olney

Good write up, I'm sure I will use it when I set up a touch probe. Andy

Re: Reset on a Gecko 320
I am also trying to figure out how to get the G320 to report to the acorn that a fault has occurred. I have a momentary contact switch to turn on the drives. I think they have a latching circuit and when the drives fault the latch is released and the output seems to be about .5 volts. A relay board ...

Re: Schematics .dwg file type conversion?
Here you go. R12 version, change the extension back to dwg, let me know if it does not work.

Re: Anomalous Behavior of Beagle Bone Green on Acorn Board with separate power supplies
I have the common tied together on both the acorn and the vfd, including the 0 to 10 volt speed control.
The voltage between the common and the forward terminal is about 23 volts.

Re: Anomalous Behavior of Beagle Bone Green on Acorn Board with separate power supplies
Yes, Acorn starts with both power off to the VFD and the terminals 4 and 5 disconnected.
Attached is the manual, looks like a relevant bit might be this: Thanks for the help.

Re: Anomalous Behavior of Beagle Bone Green on Acorn Board with separate power supplies
Marty- Ouch, wrong again! Somehow I got the diode direction wrong in my head in the Acorn output schematic. The vfd does indeed have a positive voltage (about 23v) at terminals 4 and 5 when I disconnected from the acorn. On the other hand, the acorn seems to control it fine: CW, CCW, and speed contr...

Marty -
Your are right, after looking at the Centroid output schematic, I think I am seeing the voltage from the Acorn not the VFD. I have the thing programmed for 2 wire control. Terminal 3 is ground, top diagram. No good schematic in the vfd manual.

Re: Anomalous Behavior of Beagle Bone Green on Acorn Board with separate power supplies
It supplies voltage, I am seeing about 23 v, and the acorn output pulls it low. At the moment, am going to make it part of my startup to turn on the VFD last. Actually made my first part for my lathe conversion last night, a cover plate for the the x axis motor mount, the simplest part I could think...
