Re: Board mounting consideration?
This is the preferred way to mount the board. Use a longer standoff rather than a shorter one just in case a screw or something finds its way under the board. You don't want it shorting out on accident. No issues with electrical interference. Exactly what I was thinking on the spacer/standoffs, tha...

Board mounting consideration?
I would like to drill and tap my metal backpanel to attach the Acorn, Ethernet 1616, etc.
My thought is to use nylon spacers on a 6-32 screw to keep the backs of the boards from physically touching however is there a risk of any electrical interference thru the screws themselves?

Re: Boxford 250Pc lathe tool turret
My old DM3000 had a macro that rotated 60 deg per tool and backed up a small amount against the pawl. Though the pawl does have a 24v solenoid that would have allowed bidirectional use. It wasnt implemented that I can see. I am guessing the macro rezeroed the axis after the back up. This was with re...

You mean the Logosol software? I didnt know FC has one too.martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:10 am You may need to get into the drives so keep it all in tact as well as the DB9 serial converter. You may use a good USB to Serial cable.
Download the Flashcut DCN Utility and the manual.

Re: UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?
Again Marty thanks for all of the help. My intent is to use all din rail supplies, I have a few in various voltages. When you say yellow wires? Are you referring to the Cat5 patch cables between the drives and terminating into what appears a db9 (possibly RS232?). I was reading about their tuning an...

Re: UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?
I got my Ethernet 1616 today along with a few other bits and pieces. Sure would be nice if din rail mounts were listed and or available. Can I share a 24v power supply for both the acorn and the 1616? I am guessing it would have to be 3-5A? And best to use a separate ps for all other needs? Marty, I...

BC is a PIA. Hope you never gave them a phone number or email. I will say Sorin Nenu was a great teacher when he was on board.

Re: Acorn semi closed loop
Servo drive is specifically for servos only. Most of the time turning your back will be ok, lights out might be a little different. I get your concern just dont let perfection be a limiting factor. Most issues are user error and there is a learning curve. Buy cheap end mills at first

Re: Acorn semi closed loop
I am looking to build a hobby level Avid 4x2 or 4x4 with an Acorn control board and Gecko drives controlling NEMA 23 or 34 motors. One of the features I would like to accomplish is that the system shuts down if it enters a state with too many missed steps. I know from 3D printing that once a g-code...

Re: UMC10 from Flashcut to Acorn?
The white wires terminate into the input terminals of the fc controller as they are the home pulse from the servo encoder. I was reading how that can be programmed in those drives. My hope is it still programmed for that. I am merely changing where the drive gets the signal from (Acorn). The other w...
