Re: CAD -> CNC usage

I had pretty poor luck trying to use Fusion 360 to build a workable toolpath for my lathe in Mach 3. I'm sure a lot of that can be attributed to my inexperience with both programs.

Re: Novakon CNC lathe NL-150

I did not see it yet, but the info I have says it had a VFD for speed control and belt driven. -I'm not familiar with the Novakon, but that's very common for small lathes today. Dont know if it is flat cog belt or just plain V belt. -If it had "rigid tapping", most likely a cogged timing ...

Re: CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

That's a video I haven't seen. Is there a listing of all the relevant videos, somewhere? Some appear to be linked from the Acorn pages, some are posted here- but in multiple different threads- and so on. If there isn't such a complete listing, maybe we should put one together- here's the ones you'll...

Re: CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

Can the CNC software (CNC12, etc.) be uninstalled and reloaded if there any issues, like most other software? I know you'd lose your settings and whatnot, but it's not a matter of having to buy another license if you have Pro, right?

Re: CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

Restarting the PC seems to have straightened things out, and I was able to launch CNC12. The board's just on the table, but I was able to test my spindle encoder, again similar to Marty's video. Soldered ends, even, and got it right on the first try. :) Now as soon as my stepper controllers arrive, ...

CNC12 won't load properly on factory-supplied computer

I received my Dell touchscreen computer and Acorn board on Friday (yesterday) and sat down to try the bench test as shown in Marty's video. When trying to install CNC12, I keep getting this error message: http://docsmachine.com/cnc/images/error1.jpg Aborting, of course, cancels the whole operation, ...

Re: Logan lathe CNC conversion

Got the belt in and installed, and everything looks like it works just fine. http://docsmachine.com/cnc/images/LoganCNC199.jpg I was hoping that just keeping everything machined square and true would let it track properly, but as it turned out, I had to add a small setscrew to do a slight bit of fin...

Re: Logan lathe CNC conversion

Just as a quick question, as I haven't run across it in the admittedly little skimming I've done of the documentation, but can CNC12 run gang tooling with an Acorn?

I'm assuming it can, but also curious if I'll need to upgrade from the basic/free version in order to do so.

Logan lathe CNC conversion

Anyone that's been around HSM recently has probably already seen this, but I figured I'd post this here as well, since I'm working on switching over to this new board. Last summer I converted a mid-'50s Logan 920 cabinet lathe over to CNC, going with the usual home-shop mods of a couple steppers and...
