Re: First bench test problem?? (Resolved)

yup, this is my 5th build and the silly mistakes are still made! No magic smoke though - thankfully.
Here's the control box - nearly finished.....

Re: First bench test problem?? Solved

Thanks for the reply, i've solved it now. Silly error - the neutral for the 5volt supply was in the wrong place! Fool, no harm done though

First bench test problem?? (Resolved)

Well i've just started bench testing with one motor and for some reason the motor only works in one direction. if you reverse direction in the wizard it does go in the opposite direction but then not the other way? It's early days I know but just wondered if this was something obvious which i'm miss...

Re: Arcade joystick as pendant

That really is good, excellent infact, because I think if i'm not wrong it means you can use an xbox or playstation contrller (which have 2 joysticks and lots of buttons) for free. Is that right???

Well got my centroid to England and just doing bench testing - everything up and running (so easy) I know i've seen it somewhere but can't find it again is how to get the dro to increment properly in metric? Display does show mm/m, but i get this: x1 moves 0.003 x10 moves 0.025 x100 moves 0.254 Bear...

Re: DB25 connector, and Pull up resistors

Thanks Scott. I will have to use a seperate 5Volt power supply as I have the leadshine type drivers. Does it have to be 1 amp as per the drawing, could it be more?

Re: DB25 connector

Thats the bit i don't understand - so the signals are different between screws and DB25? I assume one is positive and the other is negative logic? If so what does that mean? Also why use a breakout board when there is one on the acorn?

cheers

DB25 connector, and Pull up resistors

So i've not started my wiring yet but one thing i keep seeing is it seems to be prefeable to use the db25 connector rather than the screw clamp connections on the acorn for step/dir. Is it better to use the DB connector or whats the differences
