Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

I have 4 machines with VFDs in the control box. Two are Yaskawa, one is a Baldor, and one is ABB. As Gary says, the amount of noise radiated from the VFD is very low on name brands. And, I'm using $6/ft shielded inverter cable, properly grounded, for the motor connections. You don't have to house th...

Re: Help on isolation switch fit two circuits/power supplies

Or, start the machine with the e-stop engaged. Good practice for any machine.

Re: Threading with Acorn lathe Pro

One thing not mentioned while using modified flank infeed is if you cut on the right flank as shown, your chips will curl towards the left. If you cut on the left flank, your chips will curl to the right which is perfect if you are threading up tight to a shoulder. Having the chips curl away from th...

Re: Touch probe

If you are using the part setup routines, zero is set automatically (display will show 1/2 the probe value for X and Y and 0 only on Z). If you are using probe cycles (which it appears), then the part position in the current WCS is reported.

Re: Duplicate encoder Reference in Machine Parameters?

If you hardwire your machine, then it does not have to be on a GFCI circuit.

Re: Threading with Acorn lathe Pro

It's an old thread, but the information is still correct. On the thread details screen (F7) the "thread angle" setting controls how much of the cut is on the flank of the tool. Entering 60° will cut with the tip (evenly on both flanks). I usually use 55°, or 65° depending on which way I wa...
