Re: All-in-one-DC fail

I have trouble-shot it a bit further. The speed-up/down air motor runs on command. The speed just doesn't change. So it has to be a mechanical problem. ICK! I'm right in the middle of a job I can't afford to abandon for two or three days, waiting for parts. I hope it's something like a sheared pin, ...

Re: All-in-one-DC fail

Oh, I also cannot hear the 'up-speed' or 'down-speed' relay clicking when I press the buttons in auto mode, but DO hear them clicking (with no effect) in manual mode. Huh? Mechanical?

Re: All-in-one-DC fail

Following up: The spindle speed buttons on the M-series Jog Panel have no effect in manual mode (don't even light up), and although in auto mode they 'light up', they have no effect on speed. Changing the speed via the CNC-11 mill program has no effect, either. I've checked all the fuses on the AIOD...

All-in-one-DC fail

I have a Bridgeport R2E4 retrofitted to the Centroid kit. It's been perfect for years. Yesterday, I fired it up, and attempted to speed the spindle up to about 4Krpm. It sped up most of the way, then something 'clicked' loudly, and now the spindle ONLY runs at about 1200 rpm. The VFD driving the mot...

Re: Spindle Motor for Bridgeport Series 2 Interact II

Oh, Boy, Jay! I'd avoid that thing like the plague! Chinese, aluminum windings (for sure, painted to look like copper!), under-wound, under-rated, cheap-o bearings. You name it, they HAVEN'T got it on those imitation-just-like-OEM motors. You'd be better off, and spend less to have your motor comple...

Re: Teco FM50 to all in one dc

Jake, there ARE good reasons to stick with it, until you're ready to spend some real money. CNC-sed, "Personally, I would not recommend doing that. Using the 0-10V analog speed reference from the All-in-one DC to control spindle speed through the inverter is much simpler and more reliable. Why ...

Re: Charge Pump

Although I have not seen any schematics or code to support this, I have the sense that the Ajax board has a "keep-alive" signal that counts on periodic communications from the console computer/Centroid software. I've seen a number of situations where the Centroid control was halted (for wh...

Occasional problem with communications

Scott, et al, I have an infrequent but recurring problem with lost communications between the PC (yours) and the CNC11/AIO. This only ever seems to happen when the system is sitting idle at the main screen, waiting a job start, or after finishing one. I do not remember its happening during a job. It...

Re: completed installations

Wow... sorry... I'm so seldom on-line, I missed this. Actually, no problems, even with the old-style Bridgeport Textron PWM system, except that it was as noisy as heck. It "SANG" all the time, and would nearly drive you out of the shop. The new servos I put on are AJAX's best, still driven...

Re: A 'resume point' feature?

Scott, I'm a long time responding to this, although it's been of great help. We've been running the conversion about 35 hours a week without many incidents, most of which were user-caused. (I'll post elsewhere about one problem that recurs fairly frequently). There's one issue with Resume that is tr...
