Re: 4th axis - motor hums and can be turned by hand and encoder updates position

Thanks for the manual. Chapter "4.30 Fourth Axis Setup" showed me where to assign the drive numbers to solve the drive number 'shifting' issue by setting order to 2341 (encoder numbers needed to be left at order 1234, counter to this manual though). Thanks for the tip on CNC11, I will for ...

Re: 4th axis - motor hums and can be turned by hand and encoder updates position

I think you may be on to something, I have not found a guide yet for the Mach3 settings needed to connect a 4th axis DC1 on a DC310b.

I hate going in and making parameter changes 'in the dark' but I may have to.

Re: 4th axis - motor hums and can be turned by hand and encoder updates position

Additional info: 7. The hum on the servo motor power leads is caused by a 15.6 khz 50% duty cycle square wave from about -100VDC to about +100VDC. Voltage on my oscilloscope: 8. After a few seconds all drives click OFF and the Mach3 error is to ...

4th axis - motor hums and can be turned by hand and encoder updates position

I have added a 4th axis to a DC310b with a DC1. 1. The Mach3 4th axis position updates when the servo motor is turned by hand 2. With E-stop released, motor hums but won't hold position, can be easily turned by hand while humming. 3. 3.3v and 5.5v green leds are lit on the DC1 4. Red LED1 of DC1 rea...

Function key for 4th axis plot

How to I get a function key plot for the 4th axis?

DC310b and Mach3

Thanks,

Re: DC310B Spin Fault not working

Sorry, should have mentioned that programs work with Open or Closed IN25. Looks like Spin Fault hasn't been working since day one a few years ago, Yaskawa drive just worked since day one as expected. Only reason I noticed not working was when I am setting up Decel time on GS2, I got to an overcurren...

DC310B Spin Fault not working

I have had to replace my Yaskawa spindle driver with a GS2. In doing so I have come across the fact that it appears that the my DC310B input for SPN FLT IN25 seems to have no affect on whether Mach3 runs a program. With SPN FLT IN25 directly shorted to its COMMON neighbor on H20, and no wires attach...

Re: A-axis analog signal and encoder inputs

So I decided to order a DC1 and a little $40 motor/gearbox/encoder off Ebay to replace the stepper on the 3D extrusion head.

Didn't need another project right now.

Re: A-axis analog signal and encoder inputs

Does A but I could write post processing program easy to make changes like that.

I may have to start probing the board to see if I can find analog signals for each axis.
