Re: Connecting Acorn to Micro 1 driver from an old CNC 4

Please take a look at the attached document below for the Pin-Out on the Micro 1 side. You can use the Acorn Standard Schematic for the rest of the hookups.

Re: Win 7 vs Win 10

It runs on both 32 bit or 64 bit. If you are building or buying a new PC I would highly recommend going with the 64 bit version (pretty much the universal standard now) for future update capabilities. The 32 bit version can only address 4gb of RAM which is the current minimum requirement.

Re: Wireless ethernet

Hi, my laptop does not have an Ethernet port. Is it possible to connect with the Acorn using a USB to Ethernet or a wireless card on a home network? Wireless will not work as the Acorn has no wireless controller built in. We have never tested it with a USB to Ethernet adapter. The two advantages yo...

Re: USB MPG

I know there have not been too many updates on this but we have not forgotten about it. We are hoping it will make it into the next release. Since we don't make the USB MPG there is a bit more testing involved to make sure everything works correctly. Since this involves potentially large objects mov...

Re: Fried VFD and Acorn

If you give our Support Department a call at 814-353-9290 Option 4, they can issue you an RMA # for the return of the damaged board. Once we have the old board in we can issue you a License File for your new board, transferring the Pro or Ultimate License to it.

Re: Millport with a Knee

On that size machine typically all axis motors will be the same size. The thing to remember with stepper motors is that they only can do their full rated torque when they are holding position. A servomotor will have a much better torque curve. For that size machine I would recommend something in the...

Re: Win 7 vs Win 10

CNC 11 is supported under Windows 7, 8, and 10.
CNC 12 is only supported under Windows 10.
If you are building a new PC, it is highly recommended to use Windows 10 so it is future proof.
