losing encoder
On my lathe that I Retrofit in 2010, the controller will lose the x encoder a few minutes after startup. I can restart it and it will work for a minutes, ( have to restart the controller ) do encoders work intermittently or would that be a GPIO4D or MPU11 problem? attached a report if that helps.

The motherboard on the computer I was using up to now gave up the ghost, so I got a newer one. problem is I used to use cnc3.04, now I have to use 3.16. that and now only having 3.5 gb ram is the only difference in the machine but she goes wacky on me when moving two axis at a time. I've gone into p...

Axis move full speed at power up
The motherboard on the computer that run my lathe died, so I changed the computer. now when I power up the MPU11-GP104D (not the Computer or cnc11) the axis both move erratically till they hit a hard stop. didn't touch the mpu11 or the GP104D. what can cause that?

Re: Encoder Question
Thanks for that Scott
I had a spare motor here so I exchanged the encoders and it turns out the reason I had it, was it wasn't working. so I put the old one back and now it works. must have been a loose connection somewhere.

*** RESOLVED *** Encoder Question
With my Lathe, I used the glentek motors with the encoders that they came with. everything worked well as far as the encoders, but then all of a sudden my x axis stopped finding home. it would hit the switch back off till the limit cleared then just keep going. seems it wasn't finding the index or z...
