Re: Best method to wire up Teknic Clearpath MCPV or MCVC to Acorn
Yes. They say the only way to do it is with the voltage->PWM converter, either the one they sell or another. But others have wired it directly into the Acorn's DB25 connector, with success. Since I have a voltage to PWM converter board that meets Teknic's specs I'll probably cram that into the box a...

Best method to wire up Teknic Clearpath MCPV or MCVC to Acorn
I'm using a Teknic MCPV motor for a lathe spindle. I also have an MCVC but I think they're functionally equivalent for my purposes. This is not the same as an SDSK motor that takes pulse and direction signals. I have read through this thread at least 5 times: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.p...

Re: Clearpath MCVC Spindle Motor Control - Solved (Mike R is an absolute legend)
great info, once finalized, please post latest working configurations and maybe a video demo. and i will gather and compile info into a Tech Bulletin and create a centroid schematic for others to use in the future. Was a tech bulletin on this ever made? I could only find one for SDSK motors. Trying...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
This was my (pre-caffeinated) thought. So does that mean I don't need the resistor at all in this case? If so, would I be better off wiring it like they outline, so that the LED power is controlled by the button, or would it be better to wire the LED directly to the USB-BOB's 5V and COM, and then tu...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
Ok, another wiring question: the cheap latching buttons I have (which I already have and want to use) have integrated LEDs that can either be always on, or can light when pressed. I want them to show the state of the button, because these are low profile and there's not much travel in the button - i...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
On page 13 of the draft manual, there's a wiring diagram for an SPST button. I am installing a 3-position rotary switch to set up for 1x, 10x, 100x speed multipliers for the X and Z MPGs on my lathe. Attached is a photo of the back of the switch. I think the way I'd wire this, based on the manual is...

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
Excellent. either way is probably fine but having it in the wizard would be welcome!

Perfect. Thanks!centroid467 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 1:31 pm Yes, you should do a clearance fit for M9x0.75 threads + 3mm diameter hole (or D shape) for the anti-rotation lug. The anti-rotation lug is 9mm away from the center of the shaft.

Re: Centroid Operator Control Panel Interface Board: USB-BOB
What type of inputs do you want to be preprogrammed by Centroid and included with the Wizard? One that might be useful (though may not need to be in the wizard, I'm not sure) - is an override enable/disable. I want to have to hit a switch to enable the feed and spindle speed override knobs, so that...
