Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

sounds like tool offset issue? or misunderstanding on tip placement of tool for the 360 chamfering cycle Thanks! I have not set any offsets yet but I did number all the tools preparing to do that, I bet the number for that tool has one and I did not realize it or I used that one the play with. Than...

Re: Some recent stuff dialing everything in:

Excellent looking engraving, what tool and what depth? Great job, Gary. Thank you Gary! The first one and what I finally settled into is a 3/32 2F carbide end mill. The Other and one I can push harder is a 1.5mm tapered ball. I have been running them @ 15 inch per min with 2 passes at .002 each for...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Yes sir, I did. https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=9897 I had a strange thing happen. In F360 a chamfering process looked good in simulation, and the gcode seemed fine also. When I ran the op, it plunged .900 too deep and crashed hard. I repeated it several times and it kept doing...

Some recent stuff dialing everything in:

Mr. Kieth suggested I share it here so I am. The process has gone much slower than I hoped but life through curve balls at me. Setting up the acorn board was pretty simple and using CNC 12 has been very easy to learn. Fusion 360 started very overwhelming but each day it gets easier and easier. Here ...

Thank you, Keith! This is finally starting to click with me. The acorn and CNC 12 are getting easier and easier as I use it.

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Thank you all very very much. I still plan good pics and videos I'm just hit and miss for time and dealing with my daughter passing. I got to the bottom it. I mistakingly left out the retaining bolts that snug up the ballscrew. I sorted that and it works perfectly. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFi...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

I think I ruled out backlash. I redid it again and rechecked my gibs. After that I did a manual run just looking at the dro in cnc12 and made a box and center point and went back and forth a lot and it seemed to track fine. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/289319/IMG_20240127_190559470_2_jpg-31...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

Scratching my head on an issue and would appreciate a direction to look in. My circles are not round and it seems to just deviate a little in the same spots no matter what I try. I used an indicator to measure backlash and have it all removed. I did this several times to be sure and they came out th...

Re: New Build - Starting from scratch with a Weiss VM25L (G0704)

I figured it out. My 24v jumper was off... :D I am a little perplexed. I did the bench test last week and the drives, e-stop and limit switch worked but today I installed the ball screws in my machine and wanted to use z to raise it and now with the same config if I leave e-stop and limit switches t...
