Re: Mist coolant wiring 24vdc
Here's a simple schematic that might help. L1 is the solenoid. D1 is a diode (1N4002 - 1N4007). SW1 is the relay module on the relay board. When the relay is turned ON, power flows through the solenoid. When the relay is turned OFF, induced voltage (surge) is shunted back through the diode to the p...

Snubber, flyback resistor, surge unit??
from my reqding of other forum posts its recommended that a snubber be used on on AC coils and a resistor be used for DC coils. My contactor im using has a 24VDC coil, the manufacturer sells an accessory called a surge unit(varistor) is this basically the same thing? and will it acheive the desired ...

Re: Common, -VDC, Chassis Ground?
Welcome to the joys of electrical engineering. Ground is ground. AC ground is zero volts. DC ground is zero volts. There is no difference in the voltage potential. All grounds whose source voltage(s) come from the same panel or sub-panel MUST be zero volts or they are not ground. Different sub-pane...

Re: Common, -VDC, Chassis Ground?
Ground is a common connection. Earth ground, chassis ground, and power supply ground should all be on a common bus (tied together) inside a electronics cabinet. If you have more than one cabinet and if those cabinets are supplied with AC power from different sub-panels, then you DO NOT connect the ...

Re: Common, -VDC, Chassis Ground?
Hello Gary, Are you following any specific Centroid or other schematics? If so, please post the number or file. We have been shipping Acorns with pre-wired power supplies with the DC negative tied to earth ground for a while now. You shouldn't need to make that connection again. DC negative and ear...

Common, -VDC, Chassis Ground?
Have my control box all layed out and getting ready to wire everything. My confusion is with the common circuit to my understanding the "common" is the same thing as DC negative, and on a video for wiring the acorn someone said to tie the psu DC neg output to chassis ground bus. So is the ...

curious i have similar drivers why do we leave the enable disconnected?Gary Campbell wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 3:07 pm Those are open loop drives, so there is no alarm circuit available. Also, leave the enable disconnected.

Re: DB25 BOB connection?
I ran into this with my DB25. I left the Acorn side alone. On the DB25 I pulled out the threaded standoff/hex, and then ran screws, 4-40 though the BD25 and into the Acorn female hex. thanks, that's probably the route I will take unless I come up with a better idea, I feel better knowing I'm not th...
